Guilty plea in North Aurora child exploitation case
A 49-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to sexual exploitation of a North Aurora child.
Duncan Murphy agreed to a sentence of 29 months in prison. He will receive credit for the 340 days he has spent in the Kane County jail.
Upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender, if he stays in this country. The court lists Murphy's address as the 0-99 block of Jubilee Close in North Ascot, Berkshire, England.
According to Kane County Assistant State's Attorney Scott Schwertley, Murphy was living with the girl, who was younger than 13; her mother; and a sibling. Between July 2012 and August 2013, he exposed his genitalia to the girl, for the purpose of his arousal, Schwertley said.
Charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, in which he was accused of touching the girl and having her touch him, were dropped.
