Mayor's Elk Grove bike ride promotes cycling

Cyclists took a five-mile spin around Elk Grove Village Saturday as part of the annual Bike with the Mayor event.

Mayor Craig B. Johnson led the ride, which started and ended at the Elk Grove Historical Museum parking lot.

The day also included refreshments, crafts and games.

The free event was organized by the Friends of Cycling in Elk Grove with assistance from the Elk Grove Park District.

The cycling group is working to promote and improve cycling in Elk Grove Village. More informaiton is at www.egvbikes.org or email egvbikes@gmail.com.
