Windmill City fest opens in Batavia

The annual Windmill City Festival kicked off its four-day run Thursday evening along Batavia's Riverwalk.

The event continues through Sunday with daily live music, a carnival, 5K run, pet parade and more.

Friday's highlights include the music and comedy of Midwest Dueling Pianos at 6 p.m. and the Windmill Whirl 5K race at 7 p.m. Saturday's events include a farmers market, pet parade and Wiffle ball home run derby.

The festival concludes on Sunday with an ice cream eating contest and fire hose challenge.
