One injured in 3-car Huntley crash

One person had to be extricated from a car after a three-vehicle accident Thursday night in Huntley, officials said.

Huntley fire and police, as well as the Kane County sheriff's office, responded about 5 p.m. to the crash at the intersection of Big Timber Road and Route 47, Fire Lt. Ken Madziarek said.

Emergency crews had to extricate an occupant who was trapped in one of the vehicles; that person was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin with injuries that are not life-threatening, Madziarek said. Three other people were treated on the scene.

The crash closed down the surrounding roads in both directions for about a half-hour, Madziarek said, but he had no information yet about the cause of the crash or if any citations had been issued.
