Transition contract is appalling

I have just read Mr. Lissau's article regarding newly retired Supt. Jody Ware's contract extension in order to spend five additional days to assist District 120's new Supt. Kevin Myers transition to Mundelein High School. Another 10 days may be offered to her as the new school year begins.

I am appalled that after a month of paid transition and as a district that talks about fiscal responsibility, thousands of dollars are being spent on a former superintendent who this year received a 97 percent unfavorable rating by Mundelein teachers in a no-confidence vote.

I wonder why the district seems so hesitant about allowing Dr. Myers to direct MHS in a new and healthy direction? Wasn't he hired to lead the school? Dr. Ware was quoted as "looking forward to driving out of the parking lot."

Please, Dr. Ware, do District 120 a favor, go now.
