A 4-year-old boy drowned Saturday afternoon at the Royal Fox Country Club in St. Charles, authorities said.

An autopsy on the boy is scheduled for Monday, Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said in an email, adding his office is still piecing together all the details.

St. Charles Fire Department paramedics were called shortly after 3 p.m. for a report of a person in cardiac arrest at the club, 4405 Royal and Ancient drives.

The boy was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, fire officials said.

St. Charles police are calling the death a "personal tragedy," Sgt. Roger Anderson said.

Requests for comment the country's club management were not immediately returned Saturday night.
