Sheriff's deputies find alligator during eviction
The Cook County sheriff's office reported finding an alligator in a Chicago apartment while enforcing an eviction order Wednesday morning on the South Side.
The 13-inch alligator was in an aquarium tank in the dining room of the apartment on the 8200 block of South Vernon Avenue, according to a news release.
The reptile was turned over to Animal Control.
No one was injured, and no tickets were issued.
