Is this a plot by cable, satellite TV?

Since early last night, at times almost half the over-the-air stations have been off the air, at one time or another. I hope this is just a problem with one of the two antennas in downtown Chicago.

When the channels first went digital, with all of the channels I got three- or four-bar reception, even Channel 2. Over the past year, my reception is normally two sometimes three bars at best, on all channels.

I don't know if there is an issue with the antennas, changing weather or lowering the output of the signals. I called my brother and he had all of the channels through cable. Maybe, if the "over-the-air" reception gets so bad, people will be forced to get cable, satellite or Internet to receive entertainment?
