Glen Ellyn's new French market opens June 8

Glen Ellyn shoppers will have a new option this summer when the village's French market premieres on June 8 in the Crescent/Glenwood parking lot near Prospect Avenue.

The French market, which replaces the village's traditional farmers market, will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 26.

Officials say patrons will be able to find a variety of products, including baked goods, produce, meats, flowers and jewelry.

Coffee and snacks also will be sold, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mike Formento said.

"It's going to be an opportunity for people to see something different happening in Glen Ellyn," he said.

The French market will offer more vendors and a wider selection than the former farmers market, Formento said.

"It's bigger, it's better, and it's a greater opportunity for shopping," he said.
