Cougars fall to LumberKings

The Kane County Cougars have been magical at home this season, but the Clinton LumberKings managed to salvage a game when they won the series finale 3-2 before 6,664 in Midwest League action at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva on Saturday night.

Trailing 3-0, the only offense from the first-place Cougars (32-17) came in the fifth inning when Will Remillard led off with a single. Two batters later, Jordan Hankins' double put runners at second and third, and David Bote brought home both runners with a single.

Daury Torrez (4-3) suffered the loss after allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, through 6 innings.

The Cougars welcome the Peoria Chiefs today at 6:30 p.m. to being a three-game series. the Cougars' Juan Paniagua (0-3, 4.94) starts against Alex Reyes (2-2, 4.36).
