Indiana man shot, killed in speedway parking lot

INDIANAPOLIS - A 25-year-old Indiana man has died after being shot in a parking lot near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Speedway Police Lt. Trent Theobald said in a news release that one person has been taken into custody.

Theobald said shooting happened early Saturday morning, May 24, in Coke Lot 1C. Officers and medics responded and pronounced 25-year-old Max Levine of Kokomo, Indiana, dead at the scene.

Police did not provide further information about the suspect or the shooting.

Theobald said the investigation is ongoing and witnesses are being interviewed.
