Dinges hired to lead Bartlett public works

The city of Geneva is looking for a new public works director after Dan Dinges announced he is quitting to become Bartlett's public works director.

Dinges has worked for Geneva 15 years. His resignation is effective June 19.

"The city is grateful for Dan's service to our citizens and community, as well as for the solid leadership that has contributed to our public works department and senior management team," city administrator Mary McKittrick said in a news release. "Bartlett is a larger community that presents new challenges and opportunities for Dan, and we wish him the best in this next chapter of his career."

Dinges started working in Geneva in 1999 as a civil engineer, became assistant director of public works/city engineer, and was promoted to director in 2006.

Brian Schiber, a city engineer and assistant director of public works, will fill in once Dinges leaves.
