Israel shouldn't bow to America's demands

I cannot recall seeing a more inane or blindly prejudiced letter in the Herald than the one from Jim Crane on April 26. His view is that Israel may not determine its own standards of defense from its neighbors. It must do what President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry tell it to do, like it or not. It must accommodate the Arab terrorists, Hamas and Hezbollah, and every Arab murderer, as they demand that Israel perish from the earth or be driven into the Mediterranean. It must cease to defend its shopping centers, its hospitals, its universities, every measure of a relatively secure civilization, so that the terrorists can reclaim the lands they ran away from in the wars they started to destroy Israel back in 1948, 1956, 1967 and ever since.

No matter what the Israelis were willing to give up, time and time again in the conferences with America's presidents, after everything was finalized and agreed to, hands shaken, hugs and squeezes, when the time came to sign the agreement the Arabs said "no" and they walked out, and there was no agreement. Aside from Sadat, there has not been one Arab leader willing to put an end to murder, destruction and war. There is to be no peace, they say, unless it is peace after the destruction and annihilation of Israel.

That is the message in Mr. Crane's letter. Israel must obey, Israel must give in, give up, accept, acquiesce to America's demands and directions. Hah! Israel lives and will continue to exist and prosper, so long as it endures and maintains it's motto, "Never again!"
