Kayla Wedl turned in another wonderful pitching performance for Wauconda's softball team Thursday.
The sophomore struck out 12, allowed just 2 hits and didn't walk a batter, as the Bulldogs beat Libertyville 4-0 in a North Suburban Conference crossover.
Angie Exline went 2-for-3 and scored three times for Wauconda (19-4).
Libertyville fell to 20-6 with its third loss in a row.
Mundelein 15, Vernon Hills 3: Lauren Fairweather was 3-for-3 with a homer and double, Maddie Zazas was 3-for-5 with a triple and Abbey Rosenow went 3-for-4 in the North Suburban crossover.
Maggie Mahar was 3-for-4 with a double.
Mundelein (17-8) also got extra-base hits from Karlee Busscher (triple) and Jordyn West (double).
Rose Ferolo had a double and 2 RBI for Vernon Hills (5-20).
Stevenson 2, Grant 1: Abby O'Connor's two-out homer in the top of the sixth snapped a 1-1 tie in the North Suburban crossover.
Ruby Mankus allowed 1 earned run for Stevenson (13-13).
Bri Dreschler homered for Grant.
Antioch 19, Lake Forest 0: Jessica Pedersen was 5-for-5 with a double and triple and 3 RBI, and Hannah Skoog went 4-for-5 with a triple and 2 RBI for the Sequoits in North Suburban crossover action.
Antioch (10-12) also got 2 hits apiece from Jessica Tyrell, Sage Keyes, Taylor Schiltz and Mackenzie Thomas.
Lakes 8, Zion-Benton 4: The Eagles outlasted the Zee-Bees in a North Suburban crossover that featured five lead changes.
Lakes grabbed the lead after a strong fourth inning. The Eagles scored on an RBI single by Kate Hohenstatt, bringing home Jen Reed.
Hohenstatt went 2-for-4 and scored 2 runs. Taylor Dishinger recorded the win for the Eagles.
The bottom of the first saw the Eagles take a 2-0 lead. The Eagles' attack began with a single from Montana Mang. The Eagles then tacked on more runs when Mang scored on an RBI single by Ashley Horner.
Reed's RBI double highlighted the Eagles' 5-run fourth.
Lake Zurich 15, Round Lake 2: Maria Schroeder homered and singled, and Mallory Parsons went 4-for-5 with a double in the North Suburban crossover.
Lake Zurich (18-4) got 3 hits apiece from Vanessa DiVencenzo and Maddie Minecci. Vivian Juarez and Rachel Dawson were both 2-for-4.
Grayslake Central 11, Woodstock North 5: Jamie Brew went 3-for-5, and Teagan Truskowski was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles for the Rams in Fox Valley Conference action.
Kaleigh Snyder went also 2-for-3 for Grayslake Central (16-8, 7-2) and drove in a pair of runs. Katie Strickland (triple) and Shelby White (double) also had extra-base hits for the Rams. Reagen Radke improved to 5-0 in the circle.
