Madigan shows why remap is needed
In your April 29 edition, you wrote on the movement to produce fair congressional district maps and one of its supporters, Mike Fortner.
In the article, you quoted Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan: "The redistricting Constitutional amendment is just pure Republican Party politics."
Mr. Madigan clearly displays ignorance of the fact that Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon, Democrat, is one of the supporters of the proposed redistricting map.
Mr. Madigan is the poster child for why this redistricting map is needed to keep out of office, those officials (Republican or Democrat) who are accustomed to treating citizens as unknowing children.
