Rauner gifts don't match party leanings

Rauner gifts don't match party leanings

Bruce Rauner, Republican candidate for governor and his wife Diane seem to have a very difficult time with the truth. In a TV spot, the Rauners explain that they don't agree on everything, including politics. When Diana Rauner explains that she's a Democrat, Bruce Rauner emphasizes that he loves her regardless of her political affiliation.

And yet it appears that Diana Rauner's political contributions don't match up with her stated party affiliation. She gave 77 percent of the more than $500,000 she's given since 1995 has gone to Republican candidates and causes. Ninety-one percent of her $238,150 in political donations since 2009 went to GOP candidates and conservative groups.

Rauner also says in the political commercial " I'm going to drive the career politicians nuts." His wife smiles and says, "I know honey." How schmaltzy can you get?

I don't want a governor who is "going to drive the career politicians nuts," I want a governor who is going to get good things done for our state by working with those career politicians.

Governor Pat Quinn, has been a governor who has gotten big things done and if you'll looking for someone who can shake up Springfield, we have that guy right now in Quinn. Quinn has a long record of doing bold things in Springfield. He reduced the size of the legislature, he changed the way law makers are paid, they no longer can take their full annual pay on the first day, Quinn has been a true reformer all of his life and Quinn is a proven leader who can work with the legislative leaders on both sides of the aisle. We have a very good governor and I suggest we stick with him. I'm with Quinn, I care about the future of our state.
