Friend of Wisconsin woman found slain testifies in trial

MERRILL, Wis. - A close friend of a woman later found slain says the victim was determined to reconcile with her husband who is now on trial in Lincoln County for her death.

Julie Zietlow testified that Anita Bucki was planning to move back into the couple's house a day before she disappeared, despite the knowledge that her husband, Mark Bucki, had a new girlfriend. He reported his wife missing on April 26. Her body was found May 9 in a Taylor County swamp about 20 miles from the couple's Town of Corning home. She has been strangled and stabbed.

Daily Herald Media reports Zietlow told jurors Tuesday she tried to talk Anita out of moving back into the couple's home because Mark Bucki had told his wife to move on.
