South Elgin 5, Glenbard East 1: Paige Allen (2-0) allowed only 3 hits with 3 strikeouts and walks in 5 innings as South Elgin (3-0) won in nonconference action. Sam Helton (HR, 3 RBI), Brittany Koss (2-for-3, RBI) and Demi Queen (2-for-3, RBI) led the Storm offense.

Hoffman Estates 4, Streamwood 3: The Sabres were able to manage just 4 hits in this season-opening loss. Natalie Fllippo had a double for Streamwood while Jessica Daley had 2 RBI and Melissa Malcolm drove in a run. Kaitlyn Hedger took the loss in the circle, allowing 2 earned runs and 5 hits with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Elmwood Park 9, St. Edward 6: Elmwood Park scored 8 runs in the last two innings to come back and beat the Green Wave (1-2) in nonconference play. Ryann Scully (2-for-3, 2 doubles, 2 RBI), Devyn Ernst (3B, RBI) and Kelly Theriault (2B, 2 RS) led the St. Edward offense. Emily Stapay took the loss in relief of Lindsay Zdroik, who had 11 strikeouts.

Huntley 11, Rolling Meadows 1: Jessica Shields went 2-for-3 with a home run and 4 RBI as Huntley (2-2) notched a nonconference win. Brittany Koss (2-for-3, 2 RBI), Angela Tribuzio (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Shannon Walsh (2-for-3, 3 SBs) each contributed to the Red Raiders' 11-hit attack. Haley Spannraft got the win in the circle, allowing 3 hits with 2 strikeouts, 3 walks and no earned runs.

Richmond-Burton 10, CL South 1: The Gators gave up 9 runs in the final four innings in losing their season opener. Sam McLean was 3-for-4 while Erin Yazel and Hailee Massie each went 2-for-3 for Crystal Lake South. Kim Woods drove in the Gators' only run.

Oswego East 9, Elgin 5: The Maroons (1-3) committed 4 errors in this nonconference loss on the road. Jennah Perryman (3-for-4, 2B, RBI), Kelly Bremer (3-for-4, 2 doubles, 3 RBI), Anna Eckholm (2B) and Jessica Rago (2B) led the Elgin offense. Rago took the loss despite allowing just 4 earned runs. She struck out 4 and walked 1.
