Elk Grove, Itasca share Devon Avenue bridge improvement costs

Elk Grove Village and Itasca will be sharing the cost for Devon Avenue bridge improvements over Interstate 290 that are being completed as part of the Elgin-O'Hare Western Access project.

The current bridge will be modified to make room for three lanes in each direction. The two towns are splitting the $156,253 cost to add decorative fencing, parapet columns, custom concrete form liner, and concrete staining on the outside parapet of the bridge.

The bridge improvements are expected to be complete by the end of the year. Elk Grove is planning to install a village welcome monument sign by the following summer.
