Home and Community Education Units meet

On Feb. 27, members of the Hampshire/Henpeck, Plato Center and St. Charles Units of Home and Community Education met at the Safari Oasis in Hampshire to enjoy a buffet luncheon of traditional African preparation.

Before the meal, the International Study was discussed and units told of the experiences during the year.

Restaurant owner Muhamadou Tunakara introduced his creations, three differently seasoned rice recipes; three meat and sauce entrees featuring chicken, pork, beef and sausage; Benachin (fried rice with vegetables and chicken); Domada (cassava leaf stew with peanut butter); Yassa (chicken, beef or fish fried in stew with vegetables and onions); and Pallasa (okra and spinach mixed in stewed sauce).
