Crash kills off-duty Chicago police officer

An off-duty Chicago police officer died after his car was struck during a police chase on the city's South Side.

Police spokeswoman Amina Greer says the crash took place just before 1 a.m. on Friday.

It happened after a police chase on the Dan Ryan Expressway that started in the suburb of Calumet Park.

Greer says two people are in custody.

The officer's name hasn't been released.

The crash is under investigation.
