Taxpayers should not support regional venue

In all the discussions I have heard and read about concerning the prospect of issuing over $11 million in bonds to rebuild the Brainerd School. no one has mentioned another aspect of the SaveBrainerd Foundation plan that was revealed in their glossy vision mailing.

It stated "The resulting renovation of the Brainerd Building will provide the region with a modern event venue."

I do not want my Libertyville property taxes to be spent on a regional center. Nor do I think that their proposal that all residents of School District 128 be given resident rates is appropriate, since that would include many non-Libertyville folks who would not be paying for the regional center with their taxes.

The fact that this SaveBrainerd Foundation has not been able to attract enough donors to support their dream is further proof that is not a viable project and we should not allow our taxes to be raised.

Please support my request that we all should vote no.
