Juvenile charged with attempted murder in Waukegan
A juvenile has been charged with attempted murder after shooting at another person during a party, Waukegan police said in a release on Thursday
Police responded to a residence on the 1700 block of Hickory for a disturbance in the early morning hours Monday. Officers found that four people had been partying when a fight began. The murder suspect, a 16-year-old boy who has not been named by police, fired multiple shots at an adult victim, the news release said.
The adult, who has not been identified by age or gender, sustained a superficial injury, police said.
The 16-year-old was taken to the Robert W. Depke Juvenile Justice Complex in Vernon Hills.
Police said he has been charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, one count of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of cannabis.
