District 57 teachers union ratifies tentative deal

Teachers in Mount Prospect Elementary District 57 ratified a tentative teachers contract this week with a unanimous vote, the Mount Prospect Education Association announced.

The deal, reached after nearly a year of sometimes contentious negotiations, will be official when the District 57 school board approves it, which could happen later this week.

Union leaders thanked the school board for working hard to reach a settlement.

“This is a fair contract that will help our teachers and our students prepare for the future,” Pam Dolniak, union vice president, said in a statement.
