Are we listening to concerns of animals?

When I was a child, my mother told me that Christmas Eve is the one night in the year when, if we listen with our souls, we can hear animals talk to us. I wonder what they will say.

Perhaps they will ask us to be kinder to them, to not kill them for sport or material gain and to understand that they are spirited creatures of the earth too.
