Libertyville woman dies in crash

A Libertyville woman died early Friday morning after losing control of her SUV on I-294 in Deerfield and crashing into an embankment.
Valerie Esposito, 45, was pronounced dead at 3:19 a.m. at the scene of the crash, according to the Illinois State Police,
State police Sgt. Steven Clemente said the crash occurred at 2:46 a.m. He said a witness told police that Esposito lost control of her Jeep SUV in the area where I-294 meets the entrance to the Edens Expressway.
Clemente said Esposito veered off the roadway and up a concrete embankment under Lake-Cook Road, striking underneath the overpass before rolling back down and coming to rest partially on the ramp and a grassy area.
He said the crash remains under investigation.
