Lions Club to host fundraiser for holiday food/toy basket project

The South Elgin Lions Club is hosting a fundraiser with Wise Guys Pizzeria in South Elgin to benefit the club’s annual Christmas food and toy baskets program. This year, the goal is to raise more money and collect more food in order to serve more members of the community.

Wise Guys Pizzeria will split the proceeds 50/50 with the Lions Club. The fundraiser will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the restaurant, 325 Randall Road, in the Jewel shopping plaza in South Elgin; (847) 742-0222.

Cost is $10 per person; free for kids ages 12 and younger. It includes all-you-can-eat buffet-style dinner, either dine in or carryout. The menu includes spaghetti, garlic bread and salad.

The club considers the programs and contributions to be highly important. Some of your fellow neighbors, friends, and co-workers are faced with financial troubles throughout the year, and more so over the holiday season. In the past few years, the club has approximately 200 families requesting assistance and it remains the club’s goal to continue to be able to provide food, coats, and toys to the local families that need their help.

For information, call Lion Leo Snyder at (224) 629-0180 or Lion Gary Hyman at (847) 668-2907.

The club would like to thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity in helping make the annual food and toy baskets drive a success. Without you, the spirit of giving wouldn’t be alive.

If you are unable to attend the fundraisers, monetary donations can be mailed to the South Elgin Lions Club, 500 Fulton St., South Elgin, IL 60177. Include “Food Basket” on the memo line of your check.
