How is this a victory for family values?

Hey Springfield, since you have total disdain for moral principals and family structure and go outside your authority, why should my taxes go to this government that supports an immoral act of same-sex marriage?

One calls it a “historic vote” — I call it a new low.

Just because this government makes it legal ... No government has the right to circumvent God’s definition of marriage — between man and woman.

How can this be considered a victory for family values? How is this in the best interest of the state and its residents? How does this add to our prosperity? How does it provide dignity, equality and social justice to such unacceptable relationships?

It completely unravels the foundation of society and accepted family structure.

How can this bill be about the vision of our Founding Fathers had and wrote into our Constitution?

I don’t think the alternative lifestyle and same-sex marriage was present and/or even a problem in the 1780s.

Quoting the mayor of Chicago, “This is a time when our laws are in line with our values.”

I want the fight to continue to renege this bill.

I could not believe the Catholic politicians who pushed for passage of this legislation, turning their backs to God’s institution of marriage due to political correctness. Come election time, my vote will voice my disapproval to those who voted for its passage.
