Contest to decide who makes Palatine’s best pizza

The Palatine Jaycees will be holding their annual contest Sunday to determine who makes the best pizza in the Palatine area.

More than 10 pizza restaurants that deliver to the Palatine area will take part in the cook-off, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Durty Nellie’s Bar and Grill, 120 N. Smith Street in Palatine.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children six years to 12 years old, and children five and under are free.

“Area residents will be able to vote for themselves who makes the best pizza in the area and at the same time help the community,” said Danielle Garcia, project chair.

The Bears game will be aired during the event, and there also will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Palatine Jaycees to help in their projects that support the community, including the Fourth of July Festival, Christmas tree sales and the annual garage sale.
