Republicans made key improvements
Mr. Boros, you know absolutely nothing about the Tea Party and its constituents (Your Views, Oct. 21). Undoubtedly, your mother was referring to the time when Nikita Kruschev was pounding on the lectern at the United Nations security session and warning the American politicians, viz. the Kennedys and Lyndon Johnson, that their grandchildren would live under communist rule. Unfortunately for Kruschev, Ronald Reagan came along and bankrupted the Soviet Union because they couldn’t provide their people with food and military equipment the way the U.S. could.
The liberals laughed at Edward Teller and Reagan when they claimed they could destroy ICBMs at their launch site with lasers mounted on satellites, but that’s exactly what the U.S. did and that continues to this very day. Liberals called it “Star Wars” and said it could never be done, but they were wrong again!
The Dark Ages you refer to must be in the 1990s when the Republicans controlled the House and the Senate and provided the country with its first surplus in more that 50 years and it continued for more than eight years. Of course, you probably slept through most of those years worried about the “Dark Ages.”
