Two injured in I-90 motorcycle crash

Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash Wednesday evening on westbound I-90, according to officials.

Capt. Scott Peirson of the Des Plaines Fire Department said the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. between Lee Street and the Des Plaines Oasis.

Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Brian McKinney said two men were injured. They included a 26-year-old passenger and driver Jose Flores Avilla, 30, of Milwaukee, who was issued citations for failure to reduce speed and for a violation of the classification for the motorcycle.

Both were transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to officials.

McKinney said it appears Avilla struck another motorcycle from behind, causing the accident. He said the driver of the second motorcycle was not injured.
