Antioch man faces fifth DUI conviction

An Antioch man faces up to 15 years in prison after a fifth conviction of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to officials.

Dale Anderson, 51, was found guilty of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after only 10 minutes of jury deliberation, McHenry County State’s Attorney Louis A. Bianchi announced Wednesday.

Police said Anderson smelled strongly of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests after being pulled over for running a stop sign at the intersection of Ringwood and Johnsburg roads. He had two children, ages 8 and 10, in the car and later admitted to drinking four or five beers, according to the news release.

Anderson is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Nov. 17. He is not eligible for probation.
