Metra trains heading to north, west suburbs delayed

Trains on at least four Metra lines heading into the north and west suburbs are delayed as torrential rain and hail continue to fall in Chicago.

According to the Metra website, a Milwaukee District North Line train scheduled to depart Chicago at 8:35 p.m. and arrive Fox Lake at 10:09 p.m. is running between 40 and 45 minutes late. An outbound train scheduled to depart Fox Lake at 10:15 p.m. is also delayed.

A North Central Service train originally scheduled to arrive in Antioch at 10:04 p.m. is operating 30 minutes behind schedule due to earlier delays from track debris.

The Milwaukee District West Line train scheduled to arrive at Big Timber Road in Elgin at 10:10 p.m. is 35 to 40 minutes behind schedule. An outbound train scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 11:28 p.m. is also delayed.

Two Union Pacific West Line trains scheduled to arrive in Elburn at 10:06 p.m. and 11:06 p.m. are running 90 and more than 30 minutes behind schedule due to a derailed freight train at Kedzie Avenue.
