Route 59 lane closures begin Monday in Naperville, Aurora

Contractors are expected to begin Monday closing one lane in each direction along Route 59 in Naperville and Aurora as they remove the median and replace it with temporary concrete.

Crews also are installing temporary traffic signals, relocating utility lines and removing trees in the right of way.

Work can take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and is expected to create significant delays as the two-year, nearly $90 million project enters its fourth week. The 3-mile road work zone stretches from Aurora Avenue/New York Street north to Ferry Road.
