ISU Planetarium show explores man’s view of comets

NORMAL — A new show at the Illinois State University Planetarium examines mankind’s view of comets throughout history.

The university says the show, “On the Tail of a Comet,” explores mankind’s fear of and fascination with the celestial bodies soaring across the sky.

The university says it also explains the true nature of what some ancient societies and cultures considered a harbinger of doom.

The show will run on weekends starting Friday and continuing through Nov. 16.

Show times are Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. There will be no programs Oct. 18 or Oct. 26.
