Ÿ A 2000 Mercedes sport utility vehicle was burglarized Monday while parked at a business on the 600 block of Stetson Avenue. A police report indicates the vehicle was not locked and had its windows rolled down at the time of the theft. A pair of glasses valued at $150, $10 worth of quarters, a radar detector and a multi-tool were among the items reportedly taken.
Ÿ Kevin Edward Brennan, 42, of the 100 block of N. 15th Street, St. Charles, was arrested Monday on charges of retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, observed Brennan try to leave the store with a backpack, prepaid cellphone and a DVD without paying for the items. The total value of the items was about $180.
Ÿ A brick was thrown through a widow of a 2009 Ford Focus Sunday while it was parked on the 700 block of South Third Street. A police report indicates the vehicle was parked outside a residential entrance overnight. The owner of the vehicle could not think of any reason why someone would vandalize his vehicle.
