An Aurora man has been sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a child, Kane County state's attorney officials said Saturday.

Jose Rocha, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, and was sentenced to 15 years, according to a news release.

Rocha was accused of sexually assaulting a victim younger than 13 between April 2, 2001, and April 1, 2002. The victim, now 19, reported Rocha last year when questioned by Aurora police, the release said. Rocha was then arrested and held at the Kane County jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.

Rocha will receive credit for 406 days served in jail, where he has been held since his arrest.

Rocha will be required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence and register as a sex offender, according to the release.
