Kane County

타 An undetermined amount of cash and coins were reported stolen from the center console of a car on the 600 block of Calumet Avenue near Aurora at 5 a.m. Monday, according to a sheriff’s report. The owner left a window cracked to air out cigarette smoke.

Batavia

타 A necklace and two rings were stolen out of a house on the 300 block of Douglas Road, it was reported to police at 9:55 a.m. Monday.

타 Concepcion Galvan, 21, of the 1300 block of South 14th Street, St. Charles, was charged with retail theft at 2:37 p.m. Monday, according to a police report. She is accused of taking two necklaces from Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road.

Geneva

타 Two pieces of petrified Brazilian fern wood were stolen off a driveway between 4 p.m. Aug. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Friday on the 300 block of Oakwood Drive. The 5-by-6-inch and 12-by-15-inch pieces, worth $750, had been placed along with other lawn decorations on the middle of the driveway while a landscaping crew was laying new sod at the house.
