No injuries in Carol Stream truck fire

There were no injuries Tuesday morning when the cab of a semitrailer truck burst into flames shortly after pulling into the parking lot of a White Castle restaurant on the corner of North and Gary avenues in Carol Stream, authorities said.

Carol Stream firefighters said the driver told them he was heading east on North Avenue when he saw sparks coming from the engine. He pulled into the parking lot at 110 W. North Ave. and came to a stop away from the building. Within minutes the cab was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were called at 11:33 a.m.

Because the driver pulled into the parking lot, traffic on North Avenue was not disrupted.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but authorities said it may have been sparked by an electrical problem.
