Work to close portion of Naperville trail

A portion of the West Branch Regional Trail near Ogden Avenue in Naperville will be closed for maintenance for two weeks beginning Monday, July 22, officials from the DuPage Forest Preserve District and Naperville Park District said Tuesday.

Officials said forest preserve crews will focus on the section between Ogden and Jefferson avenues that includes the Ogden Avenue underpass. While the section is closed, trail users will be directed to sidewalks along River Road and Jefferson and Ogden avenues.

The affected section of the West Branch Regional Trail was a cooperative effort between the forest preserve district, the park district and Naperville to create a walkway along the West Branch of the DuPage River. The three agencies worked together to acquire land, construct trails and maintain existing ones within forest preserves, parks and residential areas.
