Elgin’s Concerts in the Park to feature barbershop music show Tuesday

Submitted by Elgin/Fox Valley Men of Harmony

Enjoy a night of barbershop music with the Elgin/Fox Valley Men of Harmony Barbershop Chorus and other local choruses at the Elgin Concerts in the Park from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the Wing Park Bandshell stage, 1000 Wing St., on Elgin’s west side.

The Fox Valley Men of Harmony will be joined by four area barbershop men’s choruses, two from Rockford, one from Schaumburg and one from Arlington Heights.

Each chorus will present their best two songs, and then all choruses will join together in an 80-man mass chorus to sing many of your favorite old songs in four-part a cappella harmony.

This evening of music is sponsored by the City of Elgin. For details, visit www.elginartscentral.com.

For details on the Fox Valley Men of Harmony, visit their Facebook page. The group, part of the Society for the Preservation & Encouragement of Barbershop Singing, rehearses at 7:15 p.m. every Monday at First United Methodist Church, 216 E. Highland Ave., in downtown Elgin. Have you always wanted to sing in a quartet, or a barbershop chorus? Give it a try. Contact Butch at bsaf677@sbcglobal.net.
