City, Cubs agree on new signs at Wrigley

The Chicago Cubs say they've reached an agreement with the city that would allow the team to build a Jumbotron in left field at the team's historic ballpark while adding another sign in right field.

The agreement over the changes to Wrigley Field must be approved by Chicago's landmarks commission, which is meeting Thursday afternoon.

The deal would put the Cubs closer to other major league baseball teams, which have Jumbotrons.

Cubs spokesman Julian Green says the Jumbotron is slightly smaller than what the Cubs initially wanted and the right field sign is significantly smaller.

The biggest change is that the Jumbotron would be 95 feet wide instead of 100 feet. That means rooftop bleachers across the street will have less obstructed views than the original design.
