Medical examiner: Body in lake is missing student

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a body recovered from Lake Michigan as that of a 25-year-old Loyola University student who went missing Sunday morning.

The body of Christopher Evans was pulled from the lake near Belmont Harbor early Thursday.

Evans was last seen running toward the lake in a north side neighborhood early Sunday.

Media reports said Evans’ friends told police they last saw him after going to a tavern and he seemed agitated.

Evans was a part-time student at Loyola. He was enrolled in the MBA program in the Quinlan School of Business. He was also a financial analyst at Loyola in the Financial Services Office.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
