Blue cheese chicken dip sold in Illinois recalled

MIAMI — South Florida-based ECRS, LLC is recalling 12,560 pounds of chicken dip products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Wednesday that the products contain anchovies, a known allergen which is not declared on the label.

The products subject to recall include 8-oz. containers with 16 pieces per case of “BUBBA’S Buffalo Blue Cheese Chicken Dip” bearing the establishment number “P-21299” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Also being recalled are 16-oz. containers with 8 pieces per case of “BUBBA’S Buffalo Blue Cheese Chicken Dip” bearing the establishment number “P-21299” inside the USDA mark of inspection with expiration dates from June 25, 2013, through Sep. 24, 2013.

The products were distributed to retail grocery stores and through internet/catalog sales in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio.
