Man saved from burning car in Arlington Hts.

Arlington Heights fire officials said a man was extricated from a burning car Thursday evening.

Officials said the man, who is in his 30s, was taken to Northwest Community Hospital but did not suffer serious injuries.

According to the Arlington Heights Fire Department, the man was driving down Kingsbury Drive, near Hintz Road, when his vehicle clipped a parked car and then crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

Firefighters said the man was wearing a seat belt and his airbag was activated, but he was trapped in the car.

Arlington Heights police and a Buffalo Grove ambulance arrived on the scene to extricate the man.

Arlington Heights firefighters then extinguished the fire.
