Sweden's Princess Madeleine marries New York banker

STOCKHOLM — European royals and wealthy Americans in sweeping, colorful dresses arrived at the Royal Chapel in Stockholm for the wedding of Sweden's Princess Madeleine and New York banker Christopher O'Neill.

Royal fans have gathered in the sunshine waving flags and hoping to catch a glimpse of the couple, who will tie the knot Saturday, June 8, in front of some 470 guests.

The 30-year-old princess is the youngest of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia's three children, and is fourth in line to the throne. O'Neill, 38, works as head of research at Noster Capital.

The couple met through mutual friends in New York, where they both live, and were first spotted together at the Boathouse in Central Park in January, 2011.

The Swedish royal family has only ceremonial duties.
