Focus, instead, on the pot growers?

The Daily Herald has recently published several articles about the legalization of medical marijuana in good ol’ “Pay-to-play,” Illinois. The articles, for the most part, have focused on the patients’ needs and the controls provided through strict physician oversight.

One article made brief mention that with passage of the law, a very limited number of growers are being permitted but no details were offered as to who the growers are, nor how they were selected. This limited and very select group of growers will conveniently have a government sanctioned monopoly which should prove lucrative for them.

It makes one wonder if the Herald’s reporters should be directing their attention at the patients and the doctors, or rather at the growers and the politicians who selected them?
