Elk Grove woman drives into barbershop

A woman drove into a barbershop in Elk Grove Village on Friday morning, causing significant damage, but no major injuries, police said.

Elk Grove police responded to Beardsley’s Barber Shop, 664 A Meacham Road, at 8:43 a.m. for a report of a vehicle striking a building, said Sgt. Matt Fiorito.

The 50-year-old woman was an employee at a nearby business and was attempting to park her car when her foot became stuck on the gas pedal, according to a news release.

The woman was treated and released on the scene for minor injuries.

“Beardsley’s Barber Shop sustained significant damage to the store front,” the release said, although no one else was injured.

Police said no charges are expected.
