President ignoring crisis in hometown
With a rising tide of gun violence at malls, theaters and schools, we find officials tightening security everywhere followed by President Obama’s compassionate addresses to the bereaved. While I recognize Mrs. Obama came to the funeral of a student gunned down by gangs following the teen’s appearance at the White House shortly before, where is the president in the Chicago crisis? Has he issued any comment on the gun violence threatening our innocent children resulting from gang issues destroying the peace of our Chicago neighborhoods?
Since he has been sensitive and responsive to all other national violence, why not Chicago? Is it because it is his hometown? Is it because he is friends with our mayor? Food for thought.
