Bible miniseries unfolds on DVD

“The Bible: The Epic Miniseries”

Producer Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey have put together a terrific 10-part miniseries that premiered on the History Channel. It proved to be the cable channel's most successful series to date, with the last episode viewed by almost 12 million people on Easter Sunday.

The beautifully filmed series, narrated by Keith David, begins with the book of Genesis and takes viewers through the stories of the Old and New Testaments — from Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden through the life and death of Jesus.

“Hemingway & Gellhorn”

This HBO film focuses on the love and lives of writers Ernest Hemingway and his third wife, Martha Gellhorn.

The story unfolds in flashbacks, with real black and white footage of the times mixed in. Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman) meets Hemingway (Clive Owen) in a bar in Key West. They connect again as they cover the civil war in Spain. What follows is an adventure-filled love story between two talented, independent souls. The supporting cast includes David Strathairn, Molly Parker, Robert Duvall, Tony Shalhoub, Peter Coyote and Parker Posey.
